Teri Lynn Hatcher was born December 8th, 1964, in Sunnyvale, California outside of San Francisco. She was the only child to father Owen, a nuclear physicist and mother Esther, a computer programmer. After high school, Teri went on to study acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco while also pursuing a degree in mathematics and engineering at De Anza College in Cupertino, California. A year later, Teri became a member of the San Francisco 49ers cheerleading squad, known as “The Gold Rush.”
When Teri went with a friend to an audition she ended up getting her first paying gig on Love Boat. Teri went on to play a reoccuring role as Penny Parker on MacGuyver before landing the role of Lois Lane on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. In 1994 Teri married actor Jon Tenney in New York’s FAO Schwartz and three years later gave birth to daughter Emerson Rose. When Lois and Clark went of the air in 1997 she played small parts in Spy Kids 2 and Tomorrow Never Dies.
If you don’t recognize Teri from her Lois Lane days you’re sure to remember her from the Radio Shack commericals she did a few years later. Her and Howie Long did a series of comedic commericals for Radio Shack and their interaction on screen often lead to people mistaking them for being married. For six months in 1999, Teri starred in her first theatrical role as Sally Bowles in the touring production of Cabaret. Teri can now be seen on the hit tv show Desperate Housewives.
